Privacy Policy
This policy explains how USESENDRA LTD (“Sendra”, “we”) collects and uses personal information when you use Sendra on WhatsApp and on usesendra.com. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
1. Who is responsible
USESENDRA LTD is the controller of personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at support@usesendra.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account details. Your WhatsApp phone number, the name you give us, and the status of your account.
- Messages. The instructions you send in chat, including amounts, asset choices, and bank details you type or send as a screenshot, so we can carry out the request.
- PIN. Your transaction PIN is stored only as a cryptographic hash. We do not store the PIN itself, and we do not keep it in the WhatsApp chat.
- Wallets and transactions. Public wallet addresses, transaction amounts, assets, destinations, status, references, and timestamps. For Sendra-managed wallets, private keys are stored in encrypted form so we can sign transactions you confirm.
- Payout details. The bank name, account number, and account name you give us for a naira payout.
- Identity checks. When a transaction requires it, your full name, a liveness check, proof of address, and the outcome of NIN or BVN verification. We send the full NIN or BVN to our verification provider and keep only the last four digits, together with the verification result. We do not store the full NIN or BVN.
- Support and security. Emails you send us, freeze-account requests, and technical logs such as IP address and browser type when you open a Sendra web page.
3. How we use it
We use this information to create and operate your account, quote and complete transactions, verify your identity, prevent fraud, recover or trace a failed transaction, provide support, and meet legal duties. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Why we are allowed to use it
We process personal information because it is needed to provide the service you asked for, because we have a legal duty (including anti-money-laundering and identity checks), or because we have a legitimate interest in securing accounts and investigating failed transactions. Where a check is optional, we ask you before we collect it.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to run Sendra:
- WhatsApp / Meta, which delivers the chat.
- Banks and payment providers that settle naira, including Centiiv, Daya, and Paystack.
- Blockchain networks and bridging services that move digital assets, including Aptos, Stellar, and NEAR Intents / 1Click. Transactions on a public blockchain are visible to anyone.
- Identity-verification providers, including Prembly, for NIN, BVN, and liveness checks.
- Authorities, when the law requires us to disclose information.
If a transaction is lost, we share the details needed to trace it with the support and technical teams of the third party involved, so they can investigate and we can try to recover the funds. That sharing is described in the Terms of Service.
6. Where information is processed
We operate from Nigeria. Some providers process information in other countries. Public blockchain records are accessible worldwide. We share information outside Nigeria only where it is needed to complete your transaction, verify your identity, or meet a legal duty.
7. How long we keep it
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is open and for the period afterwards that financial, tax, and anti-money-laundering rules require. Identity-check results are kept for the same compliance period. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period unless we need them for a security investigation.
8. Security
We use access controls, encrypted storage for wallet keys, and hashed PINs. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. You can reduce risk by keeping your PIN private and by freezing your account from the website if you suspect misuse.
9. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you may ask us to confirm what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it where we are allowed to, or to restrict how we use it. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Some records must be kept even after a deletion request, where the law requires us to retain them.
To make a request, email support@usesendra.com from the address you want us to reply to, and include the WhatsApp number on the account.
10. Children
Sendra is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the date above. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will also tell you in WhatsApp where we can.
